Evert Willemstijn
Bass, Vocals
Comes from a musical family, started out as a singer, but
turned out to be the bass player, when the
bassist didn't show up at the rehearsal room.
From that time he never stopped playing his bass.
In the late 70's Evert played in several blues bands, from
which Livin' Blues
is the most notable.
Played with Niko Cristiaanse, Ted Oberg, John Legrand, Philip
Kroonenberg
and Frenk van Meeteren amongst others.
In the meantime he was practicing the doublebass, which led
him to
different styles such as Jazz, Gypsy, Country, Tango and even
Oriental music.
He plays guembri (Morroccan bass) and ud which broadens his
sight and knowledge in the musical field.
He likes to play all styles and whatever the song asks for.
Especially likes to play with Denise Marie because her songs
are very versatile and strong.
yes the journey continues!!
